In  2008 John De maya started a new project called ''I LOVE MY SCARF''. The Designer transformed original arabic coptic monastery scarves into individual 'punk rock' scarves , including traditional costume ribbons, lace, knitwear, feathers and fine embroidery. Deeply impressed by the arabic love for beauty he decided to label his handmade scarves with the arabic letters for ''habit schali'', which means ''I LOVE MY SCARF'' By doing  so he wants to communicate his love for beauty in general , and his expression of this love through individually produced scarves to the people around the globe.
